Prince William Forest Park

We visited Prince William in 2006 while researching our book on the CCC. The park was developed by the Corps as Chopawamsic Recreation Demonstration Area (RDA) that featured 5 group camps. It was built to provide outdoor recreation opportunities for familes in Washington, DC, and nearby Virginia. During World War II the park was used as a training ground for the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), predecessor of the CIA.
